There are many useful resources on the Internet for the study of ethnic religion and polytheism. There are also many much less reliable sites. It is not always easy to distinguish the two. On the Internet, anyone can be an expert, and the unwary walk away from those sits with sometimes lamentable results. The researcher must be on her guard then in sifting for reliable information.
One easy rule of thumb is to rely only on those statements that are cited, either in a list of sources or in a foot or end note. This same rule can be applied to books. All too often a remark or statement is taken out of context. It is sometimes possible to trace such a footnote back to its point of origin, two or three books removed, only to find the original author apparently made it up out of whole cloth, failing to cite her own source. Obviously, “he said that she said that he said” is not a reliable source of information.
Mos Maiorum Foundation's link to any given organization does imply endorsement of the policies and/or beliefs of the referenced group; for example, some Pagan groups are intolerant of the gay and lesbian life-style.
